Aerobatic pilot Matt Chapman performs in the Embry-Riddle Eagle, a CAP 580 with a custom-modified 330-horsepower Lycoming engine. The Eagle can reach speeds in excess of 240 mph, pull up to 10 G’s, and roll at a rate of 400 degrees per second – all within a few feet of the ground. The Mudry CAP is well-known name in aerobatic championships. There are only 5 other CAP 580’s flying today. Matt is recognized as an extraordinary aerobatic pilot who thrills millions of air show fans each summer. He began flying aerobatics in 1984 and quickly worked his way up to the highest level of competition aerobatics – the Unlimited category.
